HR Manager

Your mission is to...

  • Support the current payroll processes and contribute to the further development of our international compensation strategy.
  • Bring fresh ideas to our recruitment and selection policies and actively participate in new (digitalization) projects.
  • Assess the personal development needs of our employees, map out training opportunities, and shape our learning and development policy.
  • Act as a trusted advisor and sparring partner for our team of managers and directors on topics such as HR challenges, absenteeism, and more.
  • Take the lead within our HR team, currently consisting of an HR Generalist and a Talent Acquisition Specialist.
  • Report directly to the CEO and CPO of Basalte, supporting them in further shaping and executing the overall HR strategy.

As HR Manager at Basalte, you'll have the opportunity to contribute strategically to the company’s growth. You will lead a small, high-performing team, serve as the go-to person for our managers and leadership, and play an active role in supporting Basalte’s continued international expansion.

We expect you to ...

  • Have at least five years of relevant experience in an SME environment with an international scope. A master’s degree in law, psychology, sociology, or a related field is a strong asset.
  • Have a proven track record in developing and implementing both soft and hard HR projects, with a primary focus on soft HR initiatives.
  • Possess solid knowledge of employment law across various EU countries. Familiarity with U.S. labor law is a significant plus.
  • Have experience in leading and coaching an HR team.
  • Bring empathy, persuasiveness, and a critical mindset to the table.
  • Be open to occasionally visiting colleagues and/or sites abroad.
  • Communicate fluently in Dutch, English, and French. Knowledge of German is a plus.
