A mid-century mansion, reimagined for today

This 1950s residence located in Kessel-Lo, near the ancient city of Leuven (Belgium), has undergone a spectacular metamorphosis. The villa was completely renovated and reimagined into a luxurious home with timeless allure. Expansive windows now flood the interior with light and frame views of the lush garden, pool and private tennis court. With Basalte design products at its heart, the static villa comes alive: offering seamless smart home control and a sense of effortless comfort throughout.

design that breaths in dark oak

Custom dark-stained oak cabinetry threads a sophisticated design language throughout the home. A palette of deep tones, natural wood, glass and stone cultivates a serene, cohesive ambiance. Floor-to-ceiling steel doors lend architectural poise, while the kitchen embodies minimalist elegance with quiet, confident sophistication. All enhanced by Basalte smart home technology that blends seamlessly into the luxurious interior design.

The centerpiece of the kitchen is a large island topped with exclusive Emperador Dark marble, resting on a base of dark-stained oak. Subtle brass accents elevate the design, making it a space for those who feel design in every detail. Here, the Basalte design switch Sentido stands boldly in brushed black against lustrous white. It is a quiet statement of unmistakable luxury, intelligently controlling the space with just a slight touch.

when intelligent technology awakens ease

In the living area, the same dark cabinetry with an integrated gas fireplace and TV draws the eye. The space radiates tranquility, thanks to carefully selected designer furniture and art pieces. Large windows with slim frames offer unobstructed views from the living room, lounge and dining area.

A single touch of the Basalte Sentido design switch awakens the living room, filling the space with warmth and light. Its brushed black finish stands out as a bold detail powered by intelligent technology: always present, always intuitive. Here, design is not only seen. It’s experienced.

In the dressing, soft light highlights the dark wood textures and tones, shaping a backdrop of timeless luxury. Seamlessly extending into the bedroom, a single touch transforms the atmosphere, from bright and energising to calm and cocooned.

Sentido, the Basalte design switch, unites both spaces with quiet sophistication. It is an architectural detail where intelligent home technology becomes invisible yet always present, elevating the smart home into a world of effortless elegance.

seamlessly present

The residents’ passion for innovation is reflected in a state-of-the-art home automation system that controls all functions throughout the property: Basalte Home.

The Basalte iPad mount Eve keeps the tablet always charged and ready to control every aspect of this impressive mansion: from lighting and climate to music and security. Discreetly integrated into the interior, it offers effortless technology that blends seamlessly into daily life, always within reach.
